any more????

I see quite a bit more. The Trump effect is mostly just left wing sleeze ball reporting IMHO.

He's doing as much as he can to deliver on his promices. One thing he mentioned very briefly in his election campaign but definitely rang the bell of truth was that he would lower the US$ against all foreign currency. He did that in the last few months by close to 10% overall.

That will be a kick in the butt to US importers but a boon to US manufacturers. That 10% may not seem like a lot but according to Mark Carney of the BOE it's more than enough to persuade offshore US based manufacturers to bring their factories back to the US.

Low wages offshore are only about 20% of the cost advantage to manufacturing offshore. By the time all of the other costs are factored in, as well as political instability and currency fluctuation North America is a very attractive place to do business and manufacture goods.

The rise in the Canadian dollar has come completely from the decrease in the US$. The CBC, which was bought off by the Liberals prior to the 2015 election will never admit it and extol it as Liberal success, when in hindsight will be written in financial history as a huge political/financial blunder.

I believe there may be a top out of $18US and a pullback to $17US then a sideways run until or IF oil/gas prices go above $60US. When that happens there could easily be a hockey stick pattern over a couple of months into the mid $20US range or even more.

They can say what they like about the demise of Carbon based fuel. They can even stop the manufacture of the engines using the fuel but it won't work. Not for at least another 50 years. There just isn't the infrastructure in place or the materials needed available in the quantities required to make such a thing feasible in an affordable/sustainable manner.

Don't get me wrong. I would love to see an end to PLASTIC containers. I would love to see a reliable/cheap/clean method of garbage disposal. I would also love to see a lot of money poured into burning coal cleanly in a manner where all of the toxic gasses given off are captured and put to good use. It's very possible to do this. But that's a different issue.

What's going on today ? It was climbing and all a sudden changed direction. Fire and fury effect.

Distribution payout coming up on the 15th. Lots of nervousness on energy stocks and a seeming shift to consumer corporations.  Electroning trading kicks in around this time as well and even though it's crude it can tilt the markets one way or another for no particular reason. When the brokers take their vacations in August this is a normal circumstance.  I fully expect this stock ...more
