Can you contribute anything on this?

There is a rumor about a merger between ARZ and QLT:

Unfortunately I can't open the article to give a proper comment but hopefully it would be better than the previous merger nightmare. We have been screwed enough and it is going take time to recover from that disaster

Would be an unusual merger, given Adam's previous lauding of having a focused platform (cardio/pain) and QLTI's focus on ocular drugs of all things. That being said, if the industry is moving back towards development over acquisition, there can't be a littany of cardio/pain drugs kicking around in Phase2/3 or waiting for FDA approval that are up for sale so that business model might ...more

Now why would we want a company that has no revenues.

What stage are they in for drug approval?  Is anything in final approval?  The fact that ARLZ is building up their sales team it puts us in a really good situation to sell their drugs.  But if they're years away from getting it approved what's the point.  Plus have they done any studies for potential revenue like Yosprala.

I think their big thing is something called QLT09100, a retinoid drug worth about 250 million, or so says internet chatter. Phase3 is set for 3rd quarter of this year I think. https://www.qltinc.com/development/products/QLT091001.htm ARLZ would probably just issue QLTI shareolders a bunch of ARLZ stock and absorb the assets, but who knows. Would have to wait for the terms of the deal to be ...more

From their current burn rate that 125m cash could be gone in a little over a year. We are also aware as to how long it will take to get a drug approved and to the market. It's just my humble opinion but unless we get one hell of a deal this would be another drag on earnings and share price.
