takeover talk on investor village

wishful dreaming.

PBN & CPG competing to see who wants to own the most amount of debt in the shortest amount of time. That's freakin nuts.

What made more sense in rockman's posting was a PBN & CPG combination or JV on their combined properties & not bother with ARN at all.

ARN business model now seems to be as an enabler for others to farm-in on their land in a more cost efficient way so they can use the money from successful production to PAY DOWN DEBT.  ARN has been on an infastructure renaissance according to Easterndan post to that very end.

Hopefully more farm-ins are coming. Let everyone else drill, because lord only knows ARN doesn't have the money.

After CPG  came in the SP party faded & this will too. enjoy the ride.

A TO is gonna happen IMO. According to the news release the response showing from their H2O flooding program is 'significant': Arcan's investment in key infrastructure has resulted in reduced development capital requirements on a recently drilled well, declining operating costs and significant response from an enhanced oil recovery program in the early stages of the field production ...more

Second Wave Petroleum (SCS)  initiates its own waterflood project in Q4 2012. CPG presentation confirms it too.   If  ARN has very good results in waterflood as it has been clear thus far,  this will help SCS  production as well. SCS  drills  at  the  same  land.   PRY which drills a bit to the North has also great results  from its ...more

I disagree that a PBN, CPG and ARN combination is out of the question... ARN has large tax pools and a great resource.  A combined entity already owns almost 40% of ARN with 18% of that being purchased for under a $1.  ARN spent a lot of money on the infrastructure which will reduce costs per barrel but more importatnyl it was needed and is no built - there is value in that ...more

CARLOS6 The common theme with ARN, PBN, CPG and a lot of other Canadian oil companies is that after they do drilling to replace their yearly declines and pay their dividends they don't have a lot of cf left to add to production so they issue debt or equity to pay for it. This includes CPG who by the latest count now have 370 m shares out. So debt and available credit is ...more
