Highs, Trends and Nonsense
The current value of any trend is either the high of the trended period or is below the high of that period. In any given year, essentially all daily values of any trend are below that trend's high.
Using individual trend values, either the high or values that are off their highs to make the case for unrelated trends is totally unreliable and is often simple nonsense.
Any good or bad story that relates to a speculative stock will cause that stock's share price to buck any larger trend, including how the holy S&P Biotech EGF trends.
That's why people buy speculative stocks. They hope that the speculative stock's story will cause the stock's share price to go up faster than general and/or sector trends' average share prices go up.
There would be no junior markets without that real possibility.
