Recently, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) completed and submitted to the European Commission its initial assessment of BioExx rapeseed protein (Isolexx®) as a novel food ingredient for use in EU in the same general food types that currently contain soya protein and at equivalent levels.  To that end, the FSAI identified no food safety concerns, and therefore Isolexx is considered to meet the criteria for novel food set out in EU regulations.  This assessment and application was sent to all EU Member States at the outset of October for a two month review and the opportunity to request clarification if reasoned objection exists. If at the end of the two months there are no questions/objections, Isolexx will then be authorized for sale and use throughout Europe.  BioExx intends to follow that registration with a similar registration for its Vitalexx® hydrolized protein in Europe.  The EU novel food registration would be in addition to the current and existing FDA GRAS approved status for the sale of BioExx proteins in the United States.

I think someone requested clarification before approval

Thanks baby13 . I didn't connect the dots between that news item and the delay. If there's a reasoned objection, it would be helpful to know whether the recently announced nutrition study addresses their concerns. I bet that's another few weeks...

Hey Guys,   I emailed CS about this last week.  He told me that there were a couple of questions but none of them gave him any concerns that this wasn't going to be approved.  He also mentiond that this a notoriously slow process but at this stage everything is going as planned.   Crocks.

By CS - "everything is going as planned" ...isn't that what they said in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 ??????????

The key word is PLANNED does planned mean CS collects a salary until we are all broke and the company bankrupt? What's the plan? I know what the plan should be but i bet they have their own so called PLAN.

lol, I think he was just referring to the EU approval as going to plan i.e they'll get approval eventually once the arbitrary questions have been answered.  Obviously the JV discussions aren't going to 'plan' or else i'd have a new car by now.
