The reason why El Tejon is such an interesting project isn't because of its graphite content (head grade 3-5% cg is mediocre) the project location is what really make it a unique graphite mine. There are no local competition in the vincinity as its the only flake graphite mine in Mexico.

DoctorFouad: Let be clear that Big North Graphite do own 100% of the El Tejon mining concession that valid until 2054.

The property right issue is a rumour created by some poster that since dissappear. I remembered calling Jim Powell and he told me there are no dispute that he was aware off. I know for a fact that Blair Way really want the El Tejon project. He flew to Mexico to check it out himself and was really impressed. Blair simply cannot extended the deadline for the 4th time and thats why the acquisitions fell through. Time killed the Big North merger deal.

Explain how time killed the deal. If it's a good as you say, no matter how long it took it's still a good deal. The reality is it's completely unknown what the quality of the graphite is. What users have been buying it?

I'll let you in a little secert. The due diligence report would have been completed by March of 2015. The last piece of information Flinders waiting on was delay and they just gave up.

Are you sure about that?

It would be real nice of Spiro could now give a update on their amorphous graphite mine and mill. Must be getting close to another sale . How big is that stock pile now? Spiro never seems to want to answer that question.

Jim90: I am going to enlighten you what Flinders was really waiting for.  When you are doing business in mexico You have to keep in mind that when you’re getting mining rights, you’re getting rights for the underground, but you’re not getting rights for the surface. While companies can be granted mineral rights over a block of land for up to 50 years, these leases often break down after ...more

I just want to put the rumour of El Tejon ownership to rest. Any mining foreign companies operating in Mexico all faces the same problems. If only both companies wait 3-4 months and talked it over before entering the LOI phase. Poor decision on Flinders for rushing the deal and poor decision on Big North for jumping on the first deal they see.

I agree, also everyone should keep in mind that Cesar is a director of Big North and is obviously key when it comes to keeping a good relationship with the government and the local community. Cesar J Guajardo   Director Mr. Guajardo is a Mexican national and has been involved in the Industrial Minerals and Gases Industries for 40 years. Mr. Guajardo spent 22 years with Praxair ...more
