Need to fact check

So I spoke to a source and we had a lengthy conversation. They told me some really interesting news, but out of good conscience I have to double check it, it seems a little out there, and unbelievable. I just wanted to follow up but I'll no more tomorrow night

I'm not sure, it seems very unbelievable even by my standards. I don't want to jeopardize my credibility by simply posting the first thing I hear. It could be very good news if it's true. I don't see any reason my source would either lie or make something up, but it's a little too far fetched. I'll know more tonight.
