At the Bralorne Mine in British Columbia some of the most extensive and richest ore shoots end against serpentinite bodies. An example of these shoots is provided by Cairnes in 1937 who writes “the west-end shoot rakes approximately with the intersection of the vein fissure and the serpentinite and extends back for several hundred feet from this intersection.  This is a high-grade shoot and has provided exceptionally rich pockets. In a stope from 8-level, two tons alone produced 9,685 ounces of gold (±5,000 ounces per ton). Another pocket yielded 400 pounds gold from 900 pounds of ore (±10,000 ounces per ton).”

WoW! Talk about high grade! That 2 tonne chunk of rock would have had nuggets peppered all thru it! Must have been a helluva sight to behold! Missed the AGM today due to prior committments.
