BPY on NASDAQ

Does anyone know if I bought the BPY shares on NASDAQ, is the $US dividend subject to the 15% withholding tax?

A: Tax-Free Savings Accounts can be great. Most of the time, your investment returns are tax-free. ... Non-Canadian dividends, including those paid by U.S. blue chip stocks, are subject to withholding tax in a TFSA. The IRS levies a withholding tax of 15% on dividends paid to Canadian resident investors

Is BPY considered a US company? Its headquaters is in Bermuda.

Quick question.  Can you get any of the 15% tax back from the USA government on the Dividends or is that just the cost of doing business?  Thanks!

I should have been more clear on my response. You DONT get taxed the 15%, you get the full amount of the dividend in USD. The 15% I believe only applies to US domiciled corporations.

Thank you for that! You get to keep all of the div. even though it is paid in US dollars! And then you have to pay 100% tax in Canada with no reduction because it is paid in Us funds?
