This ones solid

Sell the rumour, buy the news, quarterly comes out soon, this is likely one of the best managed companies in the world, not a day trader, but a long term hold , weak hands being shaken out here, buy it and forget it, let it do its thing.....

This is a very good point. I think there are a few things going on with this stock atm. Firstly greg newmam on bnn market call gave the illusion there may be bankruptcy concerns which to me is a red herring. Secondly i think maybe some holders from the last couple of years are leaving this position as many think it will be a slower recovery or worry about a buyout from bam which would do well for ...more

Great points, if there were bankruptcy issues, we would have been down a lot more and alot sooner, 2%-5% moves up n down are weekly events for this stock, I 1st bought in at $10.50, been adding slowly from there, deffo a keeper, pull backs are not always bearish.....

Excellent discussion!! Greg Newman is bearish on this stock and link is below if you haven’t watched it already on BNN https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/investing/video/greg-newman-discusses-brookfield-property-partners~1939925 However, he doesn’t seem to indicate BPY will not survive. Not averaging down, I'm averaging up!! Brookfield has billions available to ride this out and pick up some great new deals with weak businesses, plenty of solid assets, plus I personally know one of the employees, look at canadian insider and look them up, zero insider selling sums it up.....

Forgot to mention folks on Bnn are highly manipulative, one fella was on few weeks ago crying the end of the world, later we found out he was short the market and made a killing..

All the talking heads on bnn have their own agendas either long or short of companies. I take them all with a grain of salt

He briefly mentioned vaguely about risks for shareholders being wiped out etc. Stated it was in eye of storm and all companied will survive but some shareholders will be wiped out. Mentioned it when talking a about bpy. If bam ever let one of its companies seriously screw over its shareholders it would be a huge blemish on their rep

Not doubling down, but I've initated a new position in this stock. I'm pretty bullish on REITs at these valuations. In my opinion BPY has high quality assets and even if there's a slight contraction in their property values, let's say 5%, i'd still think that their currently trading below book value.  For the sake of this business, I personally hope property values ...more

Seldom does Brookfield disappoint, this price just offers opportunity. The best property will always be a store of value. I am very interested in what May 8 will bring.
