Oh noes, they issued shares so they could buy more assets and increase the AFFO per share... put them in jail.

This is modus operandi for BTB. Held this for many years but always hesitate to buy more because I know this is likely to happen anytime. It may be necessary but it doen't inspire confidence to invest when we know they will issue at lower prices when share price gets traction.

It's pretty much how all REITs work to grow. Since they return so much of their income to holders, in order to buy anything significant, they need to raise new money. With the new money and leverage, they can buy additionnal properties to enhance shareholder returns. It may be annoying for shareholders, but you shouldn't get into REITs if you are not comfortable with that practice.
