Warning to Folks Posting here... from BTB REIT's counsel
I forgot to share the passages below from a letter I received from BTB REIT's lawyers a few months ago, prior to the AGM vote in June:
"We also note that you have written directly to the analysts that follow BTB as well as BTB’s service providers and that you are repeatedly posting on public blog sites such as Stockhouse.
...
Furthermore, we remind you that your right to communicate and share your views, including on public forums, does not allow you to make defamatory statements. Be advised that should you make defamatory statements against BTB, its trustees, officers or employees, we will take all appropriate legal measures to stop such defamation and recover any damages that our client has suffered."
The point is for others who may be tempted to share their honest opinion, concerns, criticism, etc. about BTB here on Stockhouse: please be careful since it's unclear how sensitive BTB's representatives are to reasonable debate and discussion. Despite the threats shared above, I can confirm that as of today, none of my past statements was considered worthy of a lawsuit...
... but I can tell you that based on personal experience, at least one of the senior BTB representatives is EXTREMELY sensitive to any sort of criticism, questioning or opinion however legitimate.
So please be careful, I'd hate for anyone to go through the hell I've had to endure for the past year...

Well they can contact me also. The REIT is poorly managed. It's extremely poorly managed. They have consistantly just sucked at every stage of the last 5 years. The executives, and primary decision makers should be replaced. The reason the shares are performing so poorly is because they make incredibly poor decisions.

well, at least there is one other unitholder who seems to agree with my concerns, if you are at all interested, I would love to have you testify on my behalf in an upcoming court case. I realize it's a big ask, but if you are so enclined, thanks for getting in touch
