Given all the explanations, my take on them is that it is a

a new beginning for HVI, it not a bargain at this price; many people lost a lot of money with no recourse.  What could all these firms and the banks have done differently to avoid the VIX taking off big time? anybody?

OSC is investigating Horizons. They were trading a worthless security as of late afternoon and they new it. Nothing to do with the vix. They had no direct exposure other than cash and an forward agreement with National bank. They kept trading and then revlaued to cover loss's on HVU which I believe they didnt have covered. IE; no futures contracts in place for the double exposure. No problem ...more
