Insider trading activity

Jun 8: Robert Lee sold 3,000 x $1.35.
Jun 5: Performance and RSU Rights. Issued/Exercised for cash to management team.
Jun 4: Grants of Rights. Issued to directors, I believe, all ten got 33,784.

Is this normal or unusual for this year? I am asking because I am not familiar with BXE's history.

The issue/exercise of the performance and RSU rights is normal and the $ amount would be "automatically" paid on the anniversary dates to all management/employees given units in previous years. Similarly, I believe additional rights are likely allocated on an annual basis at the same time of year.   Employees/management if exercising options would have to do it in a quiet ...more

These sells are from options that are granted to employees and its very common to sell These into the market. It generates income and u can look at it like getting a christmas bonus. Its a one shot deal yearly.  The sells are minimal and nothing to be concerned about. There is no significant sells other than a handful of option sells.

There is no significant buys either even at those price levels.  It says a lot when management has no skin in the game.

C3BTT, exactly, the bottom line. If management is not buying, conversely selling anything they are granted as options, it sends a message to the rest of us that management does not expect the SP to increase, in the near term anyhow.  I would have thought that the current oil prices were high enough to generate some expansion in drilling and growth. It's a disappointing picture.

Best keep your eye on the NG price as we are 70% NG.

As far as "Skin in the game" I have checked Management Information Circular dated April 2, 2018. Among all 10 directors, the Chairman held 227k shares + 65k DSU (Deferred Share Units). This was followed by CEO with 97k shares + Nil DSU. The rest held relatively few shares and one director had NIL. Polar Asset Management held for his clients about 2.5 million shares and $24.7 million ...more

Asset managers will of course have high ownership in any company because they have lots of funds to invest.  You don't need to make it all confusing here.  It's pretty simple, when managers own more of the company they tend to think in line with shareholders.  It's that simple.  The managers ownership relative to their salary is a stark difference.  I'm ...more

Do you honestly think some asset management company knows more than the managers who run this company day to day? I don't think so. Seeing managers put their own HARD EARNED money into the company gives a huge vote of confidence. Asset managers invest other peoples money that's not skin in the game.
