Abitibi Metals Corp. (Ticker: AMQ.c or AMQFF for US investors) is a Quebec-focused mineral acquisition and exploration company dedicated to the development of high-quality base and precious metal properties. The company’s portfolio is strategically diverse, featuring properties that are drill-ready and possess significant upside and expansion potential.
Among its notable assets is the option to earn 80% of the B26 Copper/Polymetallic Deposit, which hosts a historical resource estimate of 7.0 million tonnes at 2.94% copper equivalent (Indicated) and 4.4 million tonnes at 2.97% copper equivalent (Inferred).
Additionally, AMQ's Beschefer Gold Project has yielded impressive historical drill results, including 55.63 grams per tonne gold over 5.57 meters and 13.07 grams per tonne gold over 8.75 meters.
Recently, AMQ announced the completion of a property-wide gravity survey at B26. This marks the first surface gravity survey ever conducted on the Project. The survey included 1,466 stations and the preliminary data has already identified several high-priority drill targets outside the main B26 Deposit.
CEO Jonathon Deluce expressed his enthusiasm about the survey results, stating, "We are excited to review the B26 deposit environment and identify similar targets. This survey will delineate the gravity signature of the B26 Main Deposit and uncover potential targets for similar deposits on the property. From preliminary data received to date, the Company has identified several high-priority drill targets to be tested outside of the B26 Deposit."
The B26 Polymetallic Deposit currently has a strike length of 1.6 kilometers. However, the gravity survey aims to investigate a targeted trend extending approximately 6.7 kilometers west of the current footprint. This broader survey will help to understand the geological context and overall potential of the B26 Property.
Moreover, the first phase of drilling at the B26 Project was a significant success. The 13,500-meter drill program extended the deposit's western and eastern limits, expanded mineralization to the north, supporting the open-pit mining thesis, and identified several high-grade shoots through infill drilling.
The second phase of drilling will concentrate on growth and expansion, following down-plunge trends identified by the geological model.
This gravity survey, along with the successful completion of the first phase of drilling, represents a crucial step in Abitibi Metals’ ongoing exploration strategy. Both initiatives provide valuable data to guide future drilling and development efforts. As the final survey results are awaited, the Company remains committed to advancing its projects, executing additional drilling phases, and delivering value to its stakeholders.
