TD teaches you how to trade be a successful trader that does nothing for companies trying to grow so does Royal Bank etc. Unfortunately you have to strategically trade there is no real choice but it doesn't mean sell all your shares if you see fantastic things for the companies. Holding all your position long term in everything is not something I would ever suggest

Exchanges are between a rock and a hard place.
