Funny how none of them have traditional territory claims and Appawatiskat, down-river and with a potential interest - contingennt only if something goes wrong, mind you - were not sharing with their bretheren when they were collecting the spoils. Given the underground footprint, as Open pits would not pass muster, the disturbance to the "lungs of the planet" would likely be less than ...more

The preceding being said, there are a numerous grievances to be remedied.   Trust and good faith have been missing from the FN/Governmental relationship for so long there is nothing to re-build... It needs to be built from scratch. When the water is not potable, families are living in what are effectively tents in the winter with killing temperatures the norm for the area, not to ...more
