crz is not the only game in town with their top brand acquisition strategy (see couple of interviews below regarding cannex and cannabrands) but crz is by far the better capitalized, better managed and most astutely positioned. Having said that, it's quite clear more and more money is flowing into the US, especially  west coast, and more players are emulating the crz strategy, meaning acquiring assets is going to get more expensive. Makes me wonder what happens when canopy rivers closes...

It won't be easy, and they expect the competition to be fierce, but as you said, they are very well positioned. To be the best, you have to beat the best and they know it. Also, do you mean River distribution (RVR) instead of canopy rivers?

yeah I agree, many horses in the race but thus far crz is making excellent, and limited to non-dilutive, acquisitions. canopy rivers is the Bruce Linton vc brainchild - a well capitalized canopy offspring to planning to come into the US and gobble up any glaring opportunities while there is still such a huge valuation disparity.   https://www.newcannabisventures.com/canopy-rivers ...more

Is that some sort of hack to start acquiring US assets before federal legalization allows for Canadian LPs to do so? But, if Canopy Rivers is to trade on the TSXV, aren't they forbidden to do business in the states? That's why all the companies operating in the USA are listed on the CSE. I still think there's time for companies to gain value before being bought out! Also, as we had ...more

TSX Venture cannabis stocks cannot operate in the US. They used to be able to buy into US cannabis companies but that is now in question. I'm not quite sure what the point of Canopy Rivers is...we'll find out soon but with Linton at the helm of Rivers he'd be putting himself at risk if he were to dip into the US and Linton is not known for taking risky routes.
