Eat & Beyond Global Holdings Inc > A clearer estimate of EATS actual value

A clearer estimate of EATS actual value

From the recent financials I’ve estimated the book value of EATS to analyze the current sp overevaluation, and it looks very favourable. Available data suggests that EATS current assets divided by 19,133,350 shares outstanding puts the value of each share between $0.29 (extremely conservative) and $1.17 (likely over optimistic). All estimates are in $CAD. At the time of writing EATS trades at $2.12.

Explanation of valuation range:
$0.29 (extremely conservative) assumes that the private placements have not increased at all in value, which seems extremely unlikely but I think is useful because it adds transparency to the more likely figure below.

$1.17 (likely over optimistic) assumes that the private investments have multiplied 15.5 times, which is the ROI from the known public investments. This is likely an over estiamte because  recent additions (Plant-Power, Zoglos) almost certainly have not increased at such magnitude. Meanwhile, Eat Just has likely increased as much if not more.

Conclusion: EATS is probably worth about $0.90 to $1.00 CAD based on its current assets alone. At time of writing it trades at $2.12, and thus is about 2.2x overvalued. IMO, this is an extremely attractive valuation for a growth space with such disruptive potential and investor interest where 10x - 30x valuations are not uncommon. EATS will easily ‘grow into’ into this evaluation.

sp will be determined by investor optimism for growth in the foods/plastics biotech space, and how well EATS is positioned to capitalize on that growth with its current and expanding portfolio.

Methods:
* I worked under a conservative assumption that EATS has 1.5 million CAD cash. If someone sorts through this, please update us, but my assumption derives from EATS’ $3mil CAD cash in Sept 2020, minus investments (~$750,000),  marketing ($300,000) and operations (?), plus about $600,000 raised from financing. So, I’m just going working with 1.5million as a conservative assumption – it could be as high as $2.5mil CAD

*References are the intern statement (March 2021), including Section 10 'Subsequent events' and the original prospectus (available on EATS website). Note that some investments are listed on both the original Prospectus and again in the Intern “Subsequent Events.’ I have been careful not to double count those.

Intern Financial Statement (March 2021):https://www.sedar.com/GetFile.do?lang=EN&docClass=5&issuerNo=00049633&issuerType=03&projectNo=03145743&docId=4910375

*I found no data on how much was invested in Above Foods!? But Above is still on the website, and so I assume EATS still holds equity in Above. I have completely left those funds out. Again, this means these estimates are conservative.

Results
here is my process to derive a range of estimates on EATS assets. Please do your own research and DD – this is really a back of the envelope analysis so please help me out by suggesting how this analysis should be improved

THAT's What ive been saying!!! at $1 is a steal of a deal. I bought before as day trading at 1.97 and sold and sold at 2.47. The second it started going up i got scared since the evaluation (Based on limited public info) seems speculative. now we are seeing what happens when reality kicks in. I am LITERALLY waiting untill it goes under a $1. then im all in again and expecting some solid ...more

If you can get back in at under a $1 good on ya! But what makes you think it will go so low? Just the current downward momentum in EATS and in VERY?  For it to go to $1, the outlook would have to shift dramatically with investors suddenly don't not seeing any growth potential in food biotechnology - Unlikely. What were seeing right now is overreaction among investors to a ...more

VERY is a good investment that will require a few more quarteres of results to show its worth the investment in my opinon. So far we are down over 50% from Jan Highs. I dont think its obsurd to think it will continue its drop. I just hope it gets down to 1 and this time i might keep my money until it hits 4 lol

Ur one smart investor . You sell 2.47 it goes up to 4.60. Then back down to under 3 then up over 4 and now ur waiting till it goes under 1 dollar . Sounds like , no it's bull.to me . Nice try . Keep lying . There is no way it has swings like that and you don't buy because you knew it was heading all the way under 1.00

I made my money and i moved on. now i see its moving back down fast. Again, at 1.88 right now and your telling me it can drop lower. In 5 days from 2.33 to 1.88. Clearly you dont understand how fast this can drop. Ill wait for my opp buy to get back in.

Well you know what . If it goes to a buck , maybe it will go to 5 cents . And we will just give you all the shares

Like I suggested before this company is sketchy at best. Anyone defending it's legitimacy may have been duped if they don't understand this company just had it's 10 bagger run-up from .40 to $4+ and it may be years, if ever, before it ever achieves anything that resembles that success again. Thank you was almost ready to buy.............will hold for a while now...............to much insiders selling............negative tone................

It looks like the insider trading the past week is moslty from Balderson who exercised 150,000 shares in options at $0.50. I definiitely agree insider selling is not encouraging, but it also makes sense that a few EATS management (3 to be exact: Morris, Balderson, and Kang) are selling given the context you describe. Your suggesting to either stay away from EATS until its way lower or sell to ...more

PhD, first of all I suggest you re-read my comments, there is nowhere in my post you are replying to where I singled you out as a pumper, if fact, I actually commended you for your speculative financial analysis, granting upon review of your numbers that my speculation of share price worth at .20 might indeed be closer to your conservative side estimate at .30-.40. Further, using all technical ...more

Thanks for clarifying, San. I did detect some appreciation for my analysis. It seems swept aside to say that $.30-$.40 is the actual value, but I think everyone on these bullboards tends to gloss over (as you say) the contrarian perspectives.  I agree with your assessment of the company and clarify that the reason to invest is primarily for access to pre-IPO companies, such as Turtle Tree ...more
