This seems to be a pretty definitive comment, "Nextleaf expects to announce a future R&D and innovation agreement with a large strategic partner operating in the cannabis or pharmaceutical space." Certainly feel the debenture purchase may be related to this future strategic investment. The investor merely wanted their foot in the door with just under a 10% of the share float. The

Great minds haha :). I am trying to think of who the partner might be. So this is speculation, but I wonder if Aphria could be the partner. I know that Aphria already has a stake in Tetra Bio Pharma which developed synthetic cannabinoids for medical therapy and pain management. It seems Nextleaf has a therapeutic angle for use of THC-O acetate in addition to it being used for recreational purposes

Important step towards commercialization of IP. NL gets so little love.  I think they could have included the major R&D agreement with a large pharmaceutical  partner in the news and it would not have made a difference

They have multiple patents to commercialize. I think you know the history stealth, last year they had revenue from licencing a portion of their extraction/ refining process, current commercialization is on the molecular side of the patents

I feel that this share price will go up considerably once it has been derisked. For me, derisking would involve market evidence that their specific patents have market value. I know they are focusing on revenue from oil sales - but if they could at the same time establish some IP contracts in the US it would go a long way to showing that their portfolio has value. I don't believe they can make a statement like that without knowing it is a matter of just dotting the "i's" and crossing the "t's". They are not making a direct statement but certainly stating it is in the works.

We have been told in the coming months we will see news releases which include some of the big-name LP partners both on the supply side and the research side. Hope this gives NL some market recognition

Even with good news this would probably hover around 0.25-0.26 until that closes July 15.  On the plus side they've already well surpassed last quarters revenue with the 2 large orders to start the Q. [40kg of THC and a second large CBD order for the unnamed american listed LP from Q1]
