Price Points & Profit

The prices on the BC Cannabis Website prove Nextleaf's technology is as efficient as they say it is. Remember, most other companies that end up “coming down” to Nextleaf's price levels are doing so, likely as a loss leader. Nextleaf releases at these prices because they can and it makes business sense.

It's important to note, that Medipharm labs has a CBD 100 (I believe it’s one of the best selling CBD’s) that retails for $64.99 while Nextleaf's retails at $44.99. Additionally, Nextleaf's CBD 200 is only $15 more for a product that is double the potency.

what stands out the most to me in your post is the word "loss". nevermind. "loss leader".

Yes, other companies (not Nextleaf) are losing money to try to compete with Nextleaf's low price points, while Nextleaf is able to easily profit. This is because Nextleaf is efficient and can profit at those price points, whereas competition cannot.

A company that is liquidation pricing it's products may be doing so in preparation to exit the market and avoid having to reclaim it's products.  Watch the gov't closely. Pandemic emergency programs kept many zombie cannabis companies afloat much longer than they had any right to exist. The music is about to stop, lets see who has a chair.

Very true Frank. The other companies are the retail brick and mortar store fronts. They are already complaining that Ontario gave out too many retail licences. Crazy thing is they went and built the stores knowing there was an oversupply. Can't help stupid

The other reason for price reductions are all the products expiring on the shelves and in the warehouses. Having revolving fresh products that sell is truly a big deal. Take a look at all the write down of inventories found in various company financials.

TL/DR In an effort to make things fair and equitable, the province settled on screwing everyone simultaneously.  -------------------- I live in Ontario and most store owners got hosed, though many new ones now are just making bad decisions.  Originally the Liberals plan had cannabis as a provincial store/LCBO setup going into the election. LCBO did everything possible to have ...more

P\E in the industry is X14  Nextleaf trading at P/E -4 we are not going anywhere fast time to accept that good on them for what they achieved but this will never touch a buck in my opinion maybe 80 million dollar company 0.40 and maybe then it's exaggerating

Mendos is sold out of all glacial gold products
Comment by BlacknBulls on Dec 17, 2021 3:13pm
Being sold out means nothing without knowing how many units.  Why does anyone even care about this without knowing the most important context?  Also, WHY won't they just tell us how many units?  Why does it have to be a secret?
