Not all that uncommon; was really prevalent back in the 80s and earlier during the heyday of flow through investing (could write off more than now).  You'd get groups of companies (sister companies) with common management.  Does save on expenses, but can raise much more money with a number of entities rather than putting all those properties under one. the good thing...he kept the ...more
