Exploring Historic Mine Areas and a Newly Discovered System Steeped in history and boasting a legacy of high-grade gold deposits, New Zealand's Reefton Goldfield is poised for a revival with RUA GOLD (RUA.c or NZAUF for US investors) among the players looking to restart the region's gold production.
At the core of RUA GOLD's strategy is the rejuvenation of historic mines within the Reefton Goldfield as well as making new discoveries. Through systematic exploration and meticulous evaluation, the company has unearthed promising results.
One such discovery is the Pactolus system. This surface greenfield find, made in 2021, has already yielded promising results. With drill assays revealing significant gold mineralization, including 2 meters @ 5.13g/t Au and 2 meters @ 3.61g/t Au,
Preliminary findings confirm the extension of the Pactolus system southward along strike and is well mineralized on the surface.
Additionally, RUA GOLD is set to start a near-mine drilling program, starting with 5 targets in Reefton's Murray Creek historic district. From down-dip extensions of mine shoots to structural offsets near existing mines, each target is expected to offer a glimpse into the area's potential.
For example, recent surface rock chip samples from one of the Murray Creek targets include 56.2, 48 and 33.3, g/t Au, including visible gold. Additionally, trenching of the lode on the surface of this target returned 3m @ 31.7 g/t Au incl. 2m @ 47.1 g/t Au.
