Sometimes -
when one analyzes nearby lakes and rivers, they'll reveal much of the history of the area.
The issue with junior exploration -= ( own opinion )
Many of the MT surveys will only provide the resistivities of the solid land.
While many deposits are parked aside of a lake or river and well, most often, none are ever revealed to know what lies below that maybe relavent to the mineral deposit.
Why analyze Yellowknife bay ?
Simply put, it may reveal specific data that could assist in better understanding of the area.
Watershed play a huge impact of deliniating via erosion and redepositing of the same ores elsewhere in secondary reconsolodated deposits.
Here's a Bathymetry of Yellowknife Bay. https://ars.els-cdn.com/content/image/1-s2.0-S1364815206000624-gr1.jpg Pitiful isn't it - pretty basic contour map.
Which is why we'll look at a nautical map instead - far more detailed.
Nautical Map - simply - open up in a new window to enlarge.
What a fantastic underwater mapping. ( hydrographic )
Lots of detail, i can see the depths around the shoreline.
I cann see the deep pools, and that kind of detail can reveal lots about a
past watershed.
Islands and deltas are also important.
Like the island seen across from red lake, in yellowknife bay.
Interesting how the north side has a shallow floor.
That tells me - this was at one time all attached ot the island and ersion eventually chewed it down. Which then segways into - the western shoreline being rather shallow and then suddenly drops off, again erosion was more intense while the eastern shareline experienced erosion but not as severe - there's a lessor depth decline pointing to, the western seen a far greater force of watershed..
What would be ideal ? Seeing the bathymetry ( contour ) depths od,
Nelson Lake + Discoery Lake.
Just where exactly did that very first prospector - find rich grade gold in, ywllowknife bay ?
My hunch = placer gold was found - the historica lreport said he - dug a hole.
Such eludes = digging with a shovel. .
That's al li'll write on this subject.
Hate to takeaway from the core focus of Sixty's nearterm mining efforts..
Do excuse.
RADAR MAP - YELLOWKNIFE'S BACK BAY -
Interesting to see a supporting watershed ersion on it's western banks.
