Ciao tutti, just a little food for thought.
Altria has been one of the best stocks on the market over the past 50 years. A dollar invested in Altria in 1968 would've turned into $6,638 by 2015
So if you invested say 1000 USD in the tobacco stock Altria (MO) in 1968 it is worth more than 6 million dollars today. Around 664.000%.
What if you could get this kind of opportunity today?
What if there is a company out there ready to make a disruptive move in the big tobacco industry?
What if the world would get a new leader in tobacco - a non tobacco leader?
And what if this new, disruptive company could make both governments and smokers more happy?
Governments around the world are hitting tobacco companies and smokers really hard with new and harder regulations. But despite all government actions the number of tobacco smokers in the world is still very high. Tobacco kills one person every six seconds.
In my opinion the future will not be ”smoke-free" as WHO would like it to be but it sure can be more "tobacco-free". People have always smoked something and they will probably smoke something in the future as well. Big Tobacco with Philip Morris in charge are planning for a ”smoke-free” world in order to please the government. They know they need to do something so that they don’t loose too much of their business. They need to have their consumers hooked on nicotine. So, the plan is to offer more non-combustible and ”healthier” products and delivery systems, things like IQOS. And for those of you that don’t know this, the CEO of TAAT along a few other in TAAT management has worked with these new, non-combustible products at Philip Morris. And then they left the company to join TAAT. Smart move I would say.
The past is not the future.
Look at the car industry where gas and diesel represents the past and electric cars represent the future. Big and rapid movements happening here.
And actually it's about time. Big Tobacco has never had any major competition and threat to it's business. There has not been any really big invention in this area. JUUL came close with their vapes and took a chunk of the market, but they are still delivering nicotine, just in another form. What did Altria do? They simply bought 35% of JUUL and automatically gave JUUL av 38 billion dollar valuation. An suddenly JUUL was on the map, a giant and it looked like it came from nowhere.
We also live in a world today where country after country is embracing cannabis and hemp in general and especially medical cannabis. We seem to be more open to new ideas especially around health and wellbeing. Even Big Pharma is embracing cannabis and even magic mushrooms.
All these trends and things is setting the scene just perfectly for... yes, you guessed right... TAAT.
Traders and investors are mostly interested in price movements and TA but fundamentals, trends and big shifts in society and among consumers also have to be looked at and understood. Just look at let’s say Tesla and Beyond Meat. Way back most people heavily doubted these companies. Well, all those people were wrong. And the investors that saw the trends and the future were right.
I think TAAT is a case worth watching closely and with a huge potential to become a game changer in the smoking industry. Just like Tesla and Beyond Meat did in their categories.
Today TAAT is just a small start up and will soon enter it’s first year, 2021, with products, sales and a brand name that I think will be on many investors lips going forward. TAAT gives me a glimpse of a tobacco free future and I like what I see.
And one other thing, right now TAAT has no real competition in this new smoke category; hemp based, filled with healthy CBD, without nicotine and tobacco and with a taste and sense of a real cigarette, just like a Marlboro.
The TAAT journey is just about to start. Let the tobacco free smoke rings spread in 2021 and beyond and good luck to you all!
