Hexo
Hexo's jefe hombre made mention of Hexo's beverages when he announced the deal with Redecan. If I got it right the Hexo deal brings them into the top 10 and possibly number one for Canadian grows. Joining forces is happening more and more amongst potpreneurs and will continue.
I don't put a lot of hope for growers as I see that succumbing to the harsh reality of commodity and supply although I think there may be money in specific strains, natural or spliced for special qualities and effects, especially as we move towards certified pharma use. The rest of the growers will "compete" on another commodity and equator countries with free light and heat and cheap labour will be tough to beat pricewise.
Value added skus and beverages, I think, will steal the show, although I am having second thoughts on the margins on some of the pain creams at $50 plus a jar which seem to be catching on big times in my circle of old arthritic people.
Tinley always mentions dispensaries which makes me wonder if we have intentions of making healthful claims sometime in the future or if we are just willing to provide products for patients to self medicate at their own discretion, which is a big thing.
Crazy new industry that freely allows rec use of the same kind of product that consumers are using to treat ailments and in the US, they have restrictions to even exploring the medical properties by bona-fide scientific biologist types. And in Canada you can go find a medical cannabinist for legal licensing and direction on cannabis and hemp products for medicinal purposes and possibly even getting your insurer to pay for it or part of it through legally medically licensed dispensaries.
I guess it's no different than alcohol which is recreational but I have used to knock down my anxiety and pain despite the side effect of a hangover and alcohol poisoning once or twice.
I had some teenage years in the '60s and experienced enough of the effects of marijuana to not be fearful of it other than for legal issues. Now I am an old guy with high sugar problems and overweight and what Tinley is offering in beverage form is very appealing because of the effect, lack of sugar and low calories.
I've got a hundred dollar bill or two waiting for them to make it to shelves in Canada. Soon, I hope!
