You are so right Eric. UAV's R&D is what I love about this company. Our 'geeky' CEO has his finger on the pulse of what drones need to become looking forward. UAV is on the leading edge of drone engineering. My gut is telling me that if UAV continues to push the bar on drone development they will become a take-over target for a large player wanting to buy out the competetion and ...more

While I think this is an interesting and encouraging announcement, particularly with respect to it demonstrating UAV's ongoing refinement of their platform, I don't believe there is anything proprietary here. You're probably right that they're not breaking new ground, but they are applying 4G to new applications. They are moving towards automated drone surveillance and operational/environmental scanning in order to secure contracts from large companies (thing CN, Rogers, Pipeleines, infrastructure, etc.). I agree, it is a good and strategic move. Was thinking more about the generation of royalties or proprietary information, which I don't believe it does.
