As discussed in the interview below, the US government's attitude toward nuclear energy has done a 180 in the last decade, as increasing energy demands have made the carbon-free energy source highly sought after. For those looking for a US-based uranium exploration company to invest in, consider Kraken Energy Corp. (Ticker: UUSA.c or UUSAF for US investors).
UUSA holds three past-producing projects in Nevada's Tier 1 mining district, the Apex, Huber Hills, and Garfield Hills Projects. UUSA plans to employ modern technology and methods to extract more uranium from these impressive past producers.
UUSA's Apex Project includes Nevada's largest past-producing uranium mine, which historically accounted for 50% of the state's uranium output with an average grade of ~0.25% UO. Although the mine produced about 106,000 pounds of UO in the 1950s, it has not undergone any development since then. UUSA plans to start a drill program at the Apex Mine this or next quarter.
The Huber Hills Project has a historical production record of approximately 10,000 pounds of UO, boasting an average grade of 0.24% UO. Recent channel samples taken from the site returned UO grades of 0.149% and 0.102%, indicating significant potential for further uranium deposits to be discovered in the area.
Garfield Hills, located 12km east of Hawthorne in Mineral County, Nevada, has shown promising historical drill results, including one drill hole indicating a mineralization of 0.26% UO over 14m from 24.4 – 38.4 m. UUSA plans to conduct a Phase 2 drill program at Garfield Hills later this year.
