Nevada continues to hold the top-ranked jurisdiction worldwide for mining investment according to the Fraser Institute's annual report.
The report ranks 62 jurisdictions worldwide based on geological attractiveness with minerals and metals, government policies encouraging or discouraging exploration and investment, including permit times.
With three high-grade and past-producing uranium projects located in the US, including the Apex Uranium Mine, Nevada's largest past-producing uranium mine, Kraken Energy (UUSA.c UUSAF) is one company in the jurisdiction that is focused on fast-tracking its projects to a production ready state and lessening initial investment risk by skipping Greenfields exploration.
Uranium holds the key to a sustainable and powerful energy future, supporting the development of advanced nuclear technologies, alongside driving global economic growth, job creation, and energy independence for generations to come.
Notably, nuclear power has re-emerged as a leading solution with its support hitting the highest point in a decade as the global demand for clean and sustainable energy sources continues to grow.
In recent news, UUSA added to its already extensive portfolio having executed a binding letter agreement for the Harts Point Uranium Property in San Juan County, Utah.
The project is located in a world class uranium jurisdiction which has produced over 328M pounds of U3O8 since the 1950s, including ~80M from the 12 large uranium mines in the Lisbon Valley Anticline which the Harts Point Anticline is analogous to.
Consisting of 324 lode mining claims covering 2,622 hectares, Harts Point is permitted for up to 25 exploration drill holes and is de-risked from an exploration standpoint as three wide-spaced historic oil and gas wells on the property show 'off scale' radioactivity within the Chinle Formation host rock.
Plus, historic uranium mining at the Chinle Formation outcrop confirmed that significant uranium mineralization is associated with the flanks of the Harts Point anticline feature.
The excellent infrastructure surrounding the project is notable as well, with the only fully licensed and operating conventional uranium mill in the US located nearby.
UUSA CEO, Matthew Schwab, commented:
"We are very excited to bring the Harts Point Property into our current portfolio of prospective US uranium projects. With drilling permits in place and targets selected at Harts Point, our team is eager to begin work on this property in the most prominent uranium mining jurisdiction in the United States."
