During the 2023 Kinvestor Days Conference, CEO Matt Schwab of Kraken Energy (Ticker: UUSA.c or UUSAF for US investors) shed light on the rising global demand for uranium driven by conflicts and supply disruptions. He also emphasized the importance of a dependable domestic uranium supply to cater to the needs of the U.S. nuclear reactor fleet.
UUSA holds control over four high-grade uranium properties in the United States, three of which have a history of production. This strategic positioning positions the company favorably to take advantage of the growing demand for domestic uranium production.
Among these projects, UUSA's Harts Point project, situated in the heart of the Colorado Plateau, often referred to as the "Athabasca Basin of the United States," is in close proximity to the Lisbon Valley anticline. Historically, this region has yielded 80 million pounds of uranium at an average grade of 0.3%. Notably, Harts Point boasts historic oil and gas wells that intersect the same uranium-bearing formation, displaying significant radioactivity.
UUSA's Apex Project is positioned near Elko and Reno, Nevada, with easy access to water and electricity. UUSA recently expanded the Apex Project with land acquisitions of BLM land with the aim of streamlining permitting processes and advancing the project. The historic potential of the Apex property is evident through past drilling results, which have uncovered high-grade uranium intercepts.
In his presentation, CEO Schwab outlines the 2024 exploration plans for UUSA's projects, with a particular focus on potential drilling activities at the Herts Point Project. He also highlights how UUSA plans to expand exploration efforts across the Apex Project after obtaining permits.
