Simple question from a noob

Hey all, I have bought this stock yesterday at 4,45$... if my understanding is correct it will soon be worth around 6$? (4$ cash plus 1,98$)

best regards,

Cal

Nothing in these markets is a sure thing...  But so far, you can anticipate to get 4$ back from your investment in about 1 month. Afterwards, you should receive shares of Nickel 28 with an implied value of 1.92$. I would anticipate to recieve the shares 2 months after the 4$ payment and where it will trade is anyone's guess... But I think it's not unrealistic to expect to sell them ...more

Hey Bookend, do you know if the stock will be traded Monday or is this over? best regards, Cal
Comment by Bookends on Oct 12, 2019 11:34pm
Hey Calbucin,  It will trade untill they announce a "closure" of the deal (usually with a date). There are rare times where they can choose to halt trading and delist until the closure, but that's quite rare and, in any case, it will be announced in a press release. Monday is a stat holliday in Canada, so it will not trade here. But it will trade on Tuesday unless they ...more

Hey Bookend thanks again. Other question here. If the news was annonced friday during the afternoon (I think it was annonced around 14h30 PM), how come the stockprice as stay around 4,50 $???  Do you anticipe arise in price tuesday at opening after the Monday Holiday? Best Regards, Cal

Hello Cal, Wish I could know why it stayed at 4.5$ myself... Could be many factors.  1-The market anticipates the deal will take forever to close 2-The market only really sees value of Nickel 28 shares of 50c 3-The market thinks there is still a lot of risk associated with this deal 4-Some market participants are manipulating the share price in order to accumulate I don't have the ...more

Hello Bookends, Thanks, that seemed like plausible scenarios. You seem like you know the stockmarket well. Have you been doing this for a while? Been there since 2009 (a lucky year to enter the market).  To me it seems that if the stockprice don't go up, it's that like you say either the market does not find it plausible or possible or risky. For sure this is not a sure thing ...more

Why is it trading at such a 'discount'? Besides being managed by the same people that just stole the Cobalt 27 assets and unjustly lined their pockets with our money, Nickel 28 is saddled with large project debt. It's flagship asset, and only source of income, just spilled tailings into the sea and is shut down, with the government threatening to close it permanently. Add to that at ...more

Well, I'm no appraisor of mining assets, but here is an passage from the Proxy "The Ramu Project is an unincorporated joint venture among MCC Ramu (85% individual share), RNL (8.56% individual share), MRRL (3.94% individual share) and MRML (2.5% individual share). As of the date hereof, RNL has US$114.6 million of outstanding project indebtedness owed to MCC Ramu (being capped ...more

Hello again Cal, I've been in the stock market ever since the end of the 90s, but took a significant break after losing my shirt during the .com crash. What can I say? I was young, naive and poorly adviced. I only returned in 2014-2015 and I've been concentrating on Merger/Arbs more seriously since the end of 2015... By now, I've played a bunch of these situations... Probably over 30 ...more

Hey Bookends hope all is well for you... Here we are back at 4,48$. I know that it may seem crazy to you to sell at 4, but knowing myself I will probably do that. I don't really care about fundamentals and what is suppose to happen or not, I just play by a set of rules that I apply like a mad robot when taking position. It has serve me well for the past 10 years. It may seem stupid, maybe it ...more
