Dividend Support

I have to admit I did not see the stock dropping to here but the dividend players at 4.4% should step in.  The company just started dividends and I would hope that they are able to look forward to be able to support the dividend.  Drillers especially like oil drillers especially in Canada are going to make money.  Gas drillers like Baker Hughes in the US stated they were concern but Canada is a go.

I agree. I thought the stock price would hold up better given the ratings and target prices on it. But it did go ex-dividend today (March 22), and that can result in a drop in share price. Given the dividend is quarterly, it will be awhile before the next dividend payment attracts buyers. fwiw, I got the impression somewhere that CDI may increase their dividends in the future, but no idea of when. ...more

This does not go ex-dividend until COB monday 26th.,  "...payable on April 12, 2012 to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 26, 2012."

March 26 is the record date.  The ex-dividend date would be 2 trading days before that.
