I don't know about explode upwards, since the stock still closed down.  However with 4 million shares traded in Canada and the US a large position was placed and the overhang from the liquidation may be behind the company.  Total value of today's trading was nearing the $1 million mark, so someone with deep pockets thinks there is value in Claude Resources, just as someone else
