Golf rev tracker August and rounds played.

Dollar volumes increased 4.5% over August 2022 with Alberta showing the highest increase followed by Manitoba/Saskatchewan. While all regions gained over August 2022; Atlantic, Quebec and British Columbia saw slight growth. Regionally YTD revenues in all regions were ahead of the prior year, although Ontario’s growth remained quite modest at 3.6%. Transactions in August were up 4.5%, with increases in all regions except British Columbia, bringing YTD transactions to a 10% increase.

Rounds played.

Nationally rounds played in August remained relatively stable, showing a marginal increase of 1.5% compared to the EPORT HIGHLIGHTS previous year. This brings the National YTD rounds to a 2.8% increase over 2022 and still some 22% higher than pre-covid levels. Regionally YTD rounds are up in the western half of the country and down in the east. With the start of YTD weather closure reporting, we can see that Qubec has averaged 18 weather-related closures since May 1 and Atlantic has seen 16. In stark contrast, British Columbia averaged only 3 weather closure days. These differences are visibly reflected in their rounds results with British Columbia showing an increase of approximately 8%, while Quebec and the Atlantic region experienced a decline of 5%. While not solely attributable to weather, it is certainly a contributing factor.

BC was essentially flat compared to prior year while Manitoba & Saskatchewan dropped by 9%. Notably, in 2022 September was a strong month for the western regions, and a poor one for the east. This explains some of the current year increases ...more
