good sign, i hear the frustratrion, typically when volume goes up like this(and we know news is soon) it means the info has leaked,  i would expect an announcement by next monday, thats what im thinking now.

Yes chrisale, this should ultimately come down to a political decision, after all the EA and permit will be issued by the government both Provincial and Federal if all goes well.   Be it the Clark government or the NDP if they come into power in BC, they will have to make a decision if CEC can mine Raven responsibly within Environmental regulations, or whether the cons outweigh the pros

All good points except that the steel argument falls flat on its face with opponents when they look at the May 2011 feasibility or the dAIR and see that  a) there goal is to produce 80% coking and 20% thermal middling coal.... Good arguments chrisale, and I agree Raven will not produce 100% coking coal, but the majority of it will.   In comparison to Quinsam which I believe is 100% thermal coal production and has been approved for further mining additional resources just recently, we can argue the effect of the end-product, just like oil/gas, the oil sands, mining for REE's etc, but what can we say, even clean
