And the Opposition Builds

There are now over 80 groups opposed to the Raven Coal mine, with more people coming on board every day.  We knew all along that Compliance's application would be inadequate.  How much money are the shareholders paying the directors and CEO?  With those fat paycheques, why would they rush this through when they know the answer will be no?  There is absolutely no social license for this project, and I believe the will of the people will win out this time.

The EA process is not about those in favour and those opposed.   This is about responsible mining, and putting forward a plan that lies within EA guidelines.   Raven will either be able to proceed within EA guidelines and thus receive an EA Certificate, or they will not.   Looks like the pause is due to missing information.  Hopefully CEC will be able to provide whatever info ...more

Sorry about that, apparently the paste didnt paste. https://a100.gov.bc.ca/appsdata/epic/html/deploy/epic_project_doc_index_351.html You will see them at the top of the EAO generated docs. list.  One is the letter to CCC and one is the order extending the review 6 days.

BAH. Apparently the link doesn't work.  Just go to the BCEAO website e-pic website at https://www.eao.gov.bc.ca/ click on epic on the button on the left, and find the raven project, its under EAO generated docs.

Thanks chris, much appreciated.  I was able to locate the letter from Ms. Murphy.  I had actually emailed her, but she never got back to me with an answer regarding the pause due to the related organization of the information contained in the application.   Unfortunately I can't copy and past the letter, but I have read it and there is a 6 day delay to see whether the ...more

Dix like any of his predecessors is a politician.   Like many of his predecessors promises are made during an election, mostly to appease voters, gain their confidence and their votes.   It's what happens once in office that voters need to evaluate.  Usually promises that are made during a campaign are not always realistic, so once in office a compromise may need ...more
