Love it!

It appears that either an investor with deep pockets or institution dumped a 100k today.  Difficult for the price to break out of this range when that happens.

Shouldn't be such a big deal to you des as by my crude calculations you must be holding 50,000+ shares based on, if I remember correctly a monthly dividend receipt of approx $3500.00. Please correct my ignorance if I'm wrong.

TSX was down. All utilities/related stocks (ALA,CPX, BEP.UN,ENF, JE,EMA,FTS, AQN) were down. KWH.UN did try to raise its head above $9 but selling pressure kept on driving it down time and again. Till suspense remains over legal cases, the unit price will remain depresed. Seeing the track record over last one and a half year (regular distr increases etc), there seems to be no reason to sell.

Sukhi, you sly old devil. Of course there is a good reason to sell and you do it yourself, likely regularly by playing the swings. WHY NOT??? Profit is always a good reason to sell.  That bonus cash pays for flights, hotels, and nice birthday/christmas presents. It also provides a very nice cushion for unforseen expenses.  Still, as I mentioned before, if you can purchase this trust ...more

deisman, reason one for not selling is that news about settlement of legal cases which should be out sooner than later. It should remove the fog and may give some boost to the uit price. Second reason is that it is tax loss selling season. It is time to BUY not SELL. Unless you want to book some losses.

Most institutions are already finished their tax loss selling/trading by mid November. Depends on when their fiscal year end is set at.  I don't disagree with your strategy this time of year. Still when there is quick opportunity to make some decent profits in other companies, I don't see any reason not to take a small profit here and go for higher gains elsewhere. BLO was a quick ...more

I was talking about individuals sellling for Tax loss. Crius requires only a few individuals to sell for its unit price to get affected. Whole market is down. Relatively Crius is hoding better. Look at JE.
Comment by deisman03 on Dec 06, 2017 2:27am
I'm not knocking this trust. I have learned from companies like Just Energy to be skeptical.  The management of JE kept a lot of pertinent information hidden, while claiming all was well and that their distribution was as safe as gold on BNN.  This management appears to be more open as well as more honest.  From what I can find out the court challenges are relatively ...more

I will adimit this is starting to get ugly. I wonder if the NEW US tax regulations are going to effect companies like this?? I will be the first to admit I don't know enough about the new system to know how attractive it the new regulations would appear to urge KWH to move their head offices into the US.  It's going to make a difference for some companies in Canada that conduct ...more

Crius is a US company with head office in CT, US . It is not a Canadian based head office company operating in US. This is where you should distinguish the differences in.

Thanx Scool. Don't know how I missed that.

I'm actually sitting on more than that. Got rid of another sideways mover and picked up another 10k in the $8.70c range. Dumped them just over $9c and jumped in and out of BLO for a week or so on its way up. That was just pure luck and straight momentum/emotion and IMHO very high risk. It turned out well though and I bought back 5k today, just under $9c.  100k of this trust would indeed ...more
