Management

Listened to CEO's opening remarks. Very clear headed person.
As I said before, they are very agile in decision making. Liked their switching of priority from distr increase to NCIB, debt payment and acquisitions of smaller companies facing hardships due to  "weather bomb".

Peter Hodson from 5iResearch. The NCIB is a statement from management and we would view it as a net positive. It also helps the long-term sustainability of the dividend, as less shares outstanding means less total dividends that need to be paid year in and year out. Between this and the rising dividend, we think management is trying to tell markets that the prospects look fine.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I've always been under the impression that distributions are paid out on all units, either in public hands or retained. I don't remember where I read this. It's an accounting thing done to perk up the bottom line as income. Like I said, it's a perception and I seem to remember hearing it from one of the BNN talking heads when he?? was ...more
