My gut feeling is telling me that Q result will be very good because there is no news lately. There should be lots of progress and good news in Earnings. Management continue working on NCIB program, Solar business and Cash Flow to keep the dividend sustainable. Otherwise, Investors and institutions will step out for other interests instead of investing in Dead money with low dividend. Cutting ...more

On contrare I think next quarter will be acceptable but "very good" Obviously the dist is substainable because they forcast it 3 months in advance ;; as far as a dist cut I dont see it but management has done little to protect SP in the past year so not sure they care where the sp goes ;;;;;;;;

I still dont see how this stock dropped 3.30 per share in a year ? or was it way overpriced then?
Comment by deisman03 on Aug 11, 2018 4:46pm
It was overpriced according to the business models most analysts are familiar with.  Some, who have looked at this and similar companies/trusts, see the value here.  Most analysts are uncomfortable with yields over 4% from monthly/quarterly revenue generatin investments.  Just Energy was starting to look like it was turning around and has a 10% distribution, paid quarterly. ...more

seems odd they were able to sell the large PP at 9.80 if the market felt the same way a year ago???

It doesn't seem odd when the people that were promoting the PP and the large institutional buyers fully understood the business model so added large positions to their portfolios.  When the unit price spiked over $11 many institutions cut their holdings because of the established portfolio model constraints. Many sold half  of their positions.  That on top of the units in ...more

One other thing I should have added is that they changed their model around 15 months ago as well. They decided to forgo the stability of selling energy at slightly discounted prices to prusue the higher profits of residential consumers.  The only flaw in their new model is that residential customers are highly sought out and offered discounts to go elswhere on a regular basis without ...more

well it strikes me odd  that large institutional buys seemed to have missed all the red flags that u claim are all there in the quarterly reports ;;;;;;;;;
Comment by deisman03 on Aug 12, 2018 5:58pm
They didn't start their selling until their positions value was larger than they allowed in their business model guidelines. Shortly after the fickle finger spike to $11+ the quarterly reports started mentioning the new model Crius was attempting and they admitted the failing SOLAR endeavor.  Solar really isn't that big an issue but it was a constant loser before they bought it ...more
