Yeah, they confirmed in the last CC that they are comfortable with current distribution levels.

I think the market has already priced in a distribution cut, so we may see a shart increase in crius if they announce no cut at all in a couple of weeks.

Every company that cuts says that. ALA for instance said they would increase div by 10% then cut it by 56%

That's not a great example as Alta Gas was hit with internal controversy with their ex-ceo and the macro events that took crude oil from 75 dollars a barrel to 44 dollars really pushed their SP downwards fast. They had little choice but to cut the dividend. Crius on the other hand has strong leadership, a solid business plan for growth and the utility sector does pretty well even in a ...more

ALA is not is the oil business. Never have been. Their issues were all due to fraud and misrepresenting facts. One could say Crius is also guilty of misrepresentation regarding the solar business.

Altagas has holdiings in Canada and the US. They recently started to sell off their Canadian Assets and I believe they are trying to expand their interests in the US They use their NG assets as well as biomass fuel, wind and Hydro to produce electricity.  To my knowledge they don't have much to do with OIL per se but the price of NG does effect them, internally and externally.  ...more

great breakdown Deisman. That was my point that Alta Gas was still affected by the price of crude oil going down. Good point to the fact that they do have massive of debt too. I'm still not sure how Crius to Donald's claim that they misrepresented shareholders with their solar exit. From what I've read, they were pretty open with the reasoning for getting out of solar.

I think you read Dj's reference to Solar differently than I did.  I took it that Crius wasn't upfront about the issues it was having with SOLAR and that their motivation for buying it in the first place was more political than real. As soon as Mr Buffet realized his power companies had to purchase any excess electricity generated by the relatively small solar arrays back into his ...more

An interesting read re our political devotion to climate change. They will tax us to death before "global warming" will do the job. A little off the topic of but an interesting weekend read regarding "Climate Change". Too bad politicians don't open their minds up a bit and don't get led by the nose by influential overseer's such as the United Nations leadership ...more

I suspect that you're Canadian.  All I can reply is with a quote from Winston Churchill.  "Socialism thrives on poverty" I have to agree that humans are responsible for polluting the oceans, rivers, lakes with every sort of toxic waste and other forms of garbage known to mankind. Thankfully some of those pollutants will decompose and maybe even help things. How long that ...more

Your statement seems to suggest that Socialism is the cause of these nations third world status and financial problems whereas Churchill's implies the opposite causality in my opinion. Thank you for your good wishes and the same to you.

I find it strange that so many people are blindly following the writings of people such as Marx/Trotsky/Lenin. The rest, such as Mao were just copycats.  Marx/Trotsky/Lenin were White Collar Theorist Ideologues. All of them were NEVER self supporting and relied on the largesse of colleagues and in some cases cash backing from subversive outside governments to be elevated to influential ...more

I happen to share many of your opinions and do not dispute any of your comments in your post. I was pointing out that the Churchill quote suggests that the rise of socialism in these countries is due to the impoverished 3rd world conditions whereas your earlier post implied that the impoverished 3rd world conditions were due to them being socialist. Have a wonderful day.

my thoughts exactly, hence why I said "anyways look at our SP moving up" in my last post. But apparently some people think I shouldn't cheer for Crius to do well haha. Okayyyyy, unless you're a short why does it matter? If the stock price goes up, we all win. It dividends remain the same or go up, we all win. Go Crius go.
