Layoffs / Hours

Here's the scoop. CSF is reducing hours with one employee in an effort to collect back the portfolio. I would suppose that every manager is looking to get out. This is a disaster and will not be successful

Hours have been reduced with each brach reduced to 1 staff member, being the branch manager. Severance pay was not offered. This company dragged this out, hurting it's employees in the process  with lack of communication. Just a simple "you are being layed off". It's quite unfortunate. Do no buy shares.

Is anyone surprised by this? On March 31, the company sent out an email stating that there was a 99% chance that everyone will be safe through a sale or revised product offering. A week later, they tell all the staff they are out! Absolutely no care or concern for the employee, management is solely concerned about themselves. And you wonder how they drove the company under and took e shareholders ...more

total greed is why we are at this point - staff have no idea what is going on - temporary layoff is delaying the inevitable - the staff have to apply for ei - no way they will get their jobs back the company have 13 weeks to call them back or go bankrut or pay staff whilst the big bosses sit in their million dollar houses smiling absolutly sickening

The branches in Ontario are now open Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM. No evenings and no weekends. They are there to bring home what ever is outstanding and then they will likely start shutting down branches, sub leasing space. They need to do it quickly as the remaining staff are Management, they are not stupid and see the writing on the wall. Perhaps management has promised decent severance for ...more

Not all Managers are looking to get out - I for one am not. I will stand by the company until I am told not to as they have been there for me when crisis had hit in my life. That being said, it really ticks me off when the media portrays us as predatory and preying on the vulnerable. I for one as a manager, have an excellent rapport and great relationship with all of my 365 customers. I still have ...more

this is in Ontario correct - not mb... it is 21% and we offered checks and direct deposit not just cc ... therefore it cost them 1210 not 1400 if they chose no cc! that's what I am talking about... nowhere did I state MB...
Comment by ataloss on Apr 09, 2014 3:52pm
even if my customers chose a cc it would cost them an addition 9.95 plus 19.95 for basic cc card... so ultimately they would pay 1240 IF they chose the card.

first of all it is NOT 21.5, I have never been told not to offer them a check, ive been told/trained to tell them their options... not sure why the person training you didn't train you correctly. We are told to try to sell the premium bank account, however we are also told to tell them all of their options which is what myself and my associates did... this isn't supposed to be us going ...more

ATALOSS: being a blindly loyal employee is commendable but don't put your family/future at risk. Yes, you are told to present options to your client but you are also incented to sell the card option, those fees are branch revenue that you are bonused on, true? You will have a job until the company is crushed under their debt or until your customer base is collected to the point it makes no ...more

never once said I wasn't upset about it all... however it is what it is. It is out of our control, I accept the things I cannot change and change the things I can! Yes, I did state past precedent meaning their past ways... All employees 5 years plus are eligible for severance pay even on temp lay off... I understand it is a bad thing, I am not denying that at all. you simply are not getting ...more

The truth of the matter is this: CS management broke the law in Ontario, tried to disguise their offering as a line of credit and got busted again. They knew what they were doing. If branch staff chooses to go down with the ship, that is their decision to believe the outright lies coming out of Edmonton. My advice to them is DON'T, get out now and to the shareholder's I say, run!

I understand, and if I could, I would get out, but what about us employees who are over 60?? No one will hire me at this age after working for somewhere the amount of years I have... It is all I know...
