There are no shorts to speak of

When good short players are active, you will never know. They play intraday, which doesn't show up in the report. So why is the share price low? Generalized lack of interest...for now. There is no point in shorting this. If GSR hits, this will blast off in a big way, so too much risk. LSM

Are you serious? The POP's average daily trading volume is merely 47,416 for the last 10 days and merely 67,371 for the last 3 months. The average daily trading value is so insignificant around $3K for the last 10 days and about $5K for the last 3 months. So how much profit have these "good short players" earned playing "intraday" when the total value of the average daily ...more

I think you should read again what LSman wrote. I don't think he was referring to us. The points he brings up are good ones. Short players will play intra-day and between reports. In and Out. The goal is to be unseen. It takes volume and volatility, neither of which applies to us. GLTA

I monitor the stock available for short on my broker.  Every share in any venture stock I buy shows up available for short and is immediately sold short.  Every share, every company every time. Including POP and GSR.  Neither is availabe for short on my broker since my last buys.

Good Evening Cool. I'm not sure of what you are trying to get at here. I too have access to the available number of shares to be shorted, and I can tell you for a fact that not every share, every time, every company, gets sold short immediately. There is a difference between the number of shares available to be sold short, and the number or shares actually sold short. Please clarify what you ...more

Duh.  I was responding to the fact the GSR and POP gets pounded by shorts on every rally.  I was making reference to the availability of shares available at "my broker" and the fact that my shares are continually sold short and when I add to my position those shares are sold short immediately.  I don't have access to the shorts available at other brokers, obviously ...more

The reason your broker says no paper is available is because that house has none in inventory. That doesn't mean there's no paper to use for a short position at another firm. This said I need to be totally clear: There is no evidence of significant activity overnight, or intraday on this stock.

In addition to its own inventory of stocks available for borrowing purposes, a respectable broker should also have the availability lists provided to them by other brokers. Depending on your status as a customer, you can ask your broker for access to those lists. In anyway when a broker house says that there is nothing available for your short order, it doesn't just based on its own inventory.

While that it technically possible, it is almost never done in practice due to compliance and logistics issues, especially with stocks of this kind, making it a moot point. LSM

A broker house is required to meet its regulatory obligation of making a reasonable determination that it can locate the stock beyong its own inventory for borrowing purposes.

That's a cute quote you found somewhere, but discrete houses only have access to published shorts, not rolling or restricted inventory.

I am serious, and you seriously need to learn to read. I described how sophisticated short players worked, and that they weren't involved here. I also headlined my post "There are no shorts to speak of" I mean it is just clear as a bell. How could you possibly think I was saying something else? Man you just look silly! LSM

Regardless of the short posistion associated with POP, let me repost your thought about  "good short players" again for the information of all readers.
