RATCHING UP The EARNED DIVIDENDS For The TAXMAN

- YESTERDAY, I RECEIVED a VERY NICE DIVIDEND DEPOSIT from Cenovus Energy

- 18 CENTS per CVE share

- sure, there are DIVIDEND TAX CREDITS on BOTH the federal and provincial tax returns

- I am NOT 'EXPECTING' the SAME STRENGTH of NCIB share buybacks in September like in August but the AVERAGE BUYING PRICE will DEFINITELY BE LOWER

- anything OVER $ 200 million and I will be VERY HAPPY

- on second thought: - I was TOO AGGRESSIVE considering that they JUST PAYED $ 331 million in DIVIDENDS - so I will DROP my September NCIB 'estimate' by $ 100 million TO $ 100 million z173

as an American, i don't have the option of avoiding the taxes.  But I love the dividends for sure.  Any guess, Z, or anyone else, on where the base dividend is next year?

Average analyst price targets puts CVE above $30 CAD per share next year. Reachable if refinery issues have been resolved and commodity pricing rebounds. At $30 CAD buybacks probably end 100% FCF will need another outlet. At $1 per share annually the yield is 3.3% is sustainable and reasonable.

Thank you for the response, Quintessential1.   This makes sense to me, and i would be very happy with a .74 ish  (US) annual dividend.  I started picking up CVE a little too early but averaged myself down into the high 17s (again USD) range.
