Increased trading volume

Rather strange how prior to each quarter the volume picks up dramatically. Similar to last quarter the stock pulls back dramatically and the company misses the numbers. Large block trades as well. Any thoughts?

In my experience large volume is never an accident. It would certainly appear people in the know feel there is some kind of negative surprise on the horizon.  It was a very cold winter and home sales (new mortgages)  were down as a result. The magnitude of the sell-off is what is surprising. The company  still seems like a fundamentally longterm positive story.  I think this

This is exactly what took place last quarter. Strong selling and a steep price decline. The stock held in around the 2.15 mark for months, spiked on low volume recently and has been dropping daily on high volume over the last week. Looks as if people in the know are dumping. I do like the fundamentals of this company, just tired of this type of activity prior to the numbers being released. It is

People are have been saying for years that the Canadian housing market will have a big decline but there is no evidence of this to date. Home Capital Group which is essentially the same type of company as CSX has not had a similiar pull back in its share price.
