During the GW Bush regime R. had the House, Senate and the Presidency for 6 years, followed by two years with the Presidency and the House.  What did the US get?  The Great Recession, who got bailed out?  Finanancial institutions that were named too big to fail.  What happened to main street all the people you claim won't work?  They were left to their own means.

Loans are the responsibility of Banks, not the borrower.  The reason banks knowing gave loans to unqualified borrowers was becaue they had no intention of keeping the loans to maturity.  They bundled subprime loans into mortgaged backed securities, got a dishonest safe rating on them, then sold the over rated securities to unsuspecting retirement funds. Yes I  should of clarified myself better that the responsibility lay directly at the feet of the banks, but nevertheless the borrowers never gave thought to interest rates and common sense and showed any restraint in their borrowing and spending. Exactly like the Trudeau government behaves here.
