Resource estimate

Now lets see here folks. We have heard on this board that the area the samples were taken from is 1.5km off the river on each side by 6km. So that to me means 18 sq km, right.

Now based on the samples taken that would give us how many onces of gold? I think it was Kong or maybe Richer that came up with a resources guestimate before but I can't rememeber.

Either way if someone knows how to do the math on OZ to CM to KM x 18 it would be much appreciated.

Lets go for the gold!

OK, someone check my math as I hit the books today. So 3x6 or 18 sq Kilometers x 10 meters deep.Thats 3000 meters by 6000 meters or 18000000 cubic meters.18000000. cubic meters x 1.6 grams = 28800000 divide by 28.35 (grams per oz) =1015873. oz of GOLD! thats one million, fifteen thousand, eight hundred and seventy three OZ.X 10 for the depth of the sampling or (holly cow)10158730 Thats 10 millions ...more

Firstly, Jasper you say that you dont think that you dont think this whole area of exploration has 1.6 g/cm. But by definition that exactly what an average is. Some areas of the target  are lower, some are significantly higher (as per chart on DLKM website) resulting in an AVERAGE of 1.6g/cm. From Press Release - "Douglas Lake Minerals' Mkuvia Project averages assay results of 1.60 ...more

Just a small point when doing estimates.  Gold is sold in Troy ounces with contains ~31.1 grams per Troy ounce.  There are 12 oz in a Troy pound, 20 pennyweight (dwt) per troy ounce. The larger point IMO is that no matter how I do these back of the envelop estimates, even the most pessimistic ones show multiple millions of ounces of gold in this deposit.  My understanding, in an ...more

Urban -Math is good except you need to convert with a Troy ounce wich takes your estimate (and my posted ) to ~89 million! It still rocks for sureThe troy ounce conversion is posted a few back - KOTK

Thanks for clearing up the troy OZ thing much appreciated! From a prior poster who had talked to Harp it's 1.5km on each side of the river by 6km. I don't know if that is gospel but it sounds fair enough. The prior NR said I think 2 ago, samples 10 meters deep. That's how I came up with 10 million OZ. As far as hitting bedrock I've never heard that before in any of the NR's and ...more
