Canaco Resources Drills Relentlessly On Towards A Maiden Gold Resource At Handeni In Tanzania

By Chris Cann

It’s been a manic 12 months for the folks at TSX-listed CanacoResources, as they’ve continued with work on the Handeni gold project inTanzania. To be sure, it’s been a fairly tumultuous 12 months for goldcompanies in general, as fantastic market appetite in the back half oflast year was not followed up in 2011, as gold equities wandered wellout of step with the soaring bullion price. But Canaco isn’t quite likeall the rest. In little over a year, the company’s market capitalisationhas fluctuated from about C$40 million up to around C$1 billion, and, more recently, back down again to C$550 million. Over that time, thequality of the company’s principal asset has only got better - everyhole that goes into the Magambazi discovery on Handeni makes it lookincreasingly like a multi-million ounce deposit.

The current drilling campaign at Magambazi has maintained the strongmomentum, and the company’s geologists remain encouraged by both thescale and the grade of the discovery. The recent addition of yet anotherdrill rig has taken the total to eight, all working around the clock onthe project and delivering somewhere between 8,000 meters and 9,000meters of core every month.

The latest results came in just over a fortnight ago and, while they maynot make the company’s hall of fame, they are nonetheless results thatmost explorers would be thrilled with - they include intersections of31.3 meters grading 3.11 grams per tonne and 17 meters at 2.95 grams pertonne. But it’s more than just the grades. These results continue toprove correct the theory behind Canaco’s exploration program.

_______

Canaco's up today.

BTW, interesting close for DLKM the last three days. It seems that just before close DLKM has been up, but the last trade comes in lower than the previous day's close for 30k each time.

Thanks for the article AU.  I've noticed those 30k chunks.  I wish they were mine.  It's great to see Canaco run back up a little.  The more attention that they continue get, the more it aides us.  That imaginary line dividing our properties isn't a railroad track dividing the rich and poor.  Although they are a year or so ahead of us, I like our strike ...more

Speaking of Kwandege, it looks like the soil samples there are equal to, if not better than, those Canaco showed on its map for Magambazi.  True Canaco's map shows contours, but Kwandenge certainly looks good, imo.How long for those drill results?

Thanks baconmaker.  My problem is that I must get from my Paint program to web format.  I can use a screen capture program and Image site,  but when I attempt to transfer my image to Stockhouse's bulletin board, the various forms do not seem to work for a direct posting of the image as I can do on other forum sites.I know that direct image posting can be done.  ikebalinski ...more

Au.I use a Mac. That's why I keep promoting Apple as the success story for DLKM to emulate -- as in DLKM needs to market their story instead of keeping it a best kept gold exploration secret in Africa..I don't know how to program or import photos, but what I figured out, is that if you have two browser windows open, you can simply drag the image from one window to the Bullboard message ...more

Great cartoon. My son has Macs and says they're easy.  Problem with the PC, if I'm correct, is that when I go to another window, I lose the image I've dragged if I'm on a web site.  If the image comes from one that I've originated in a "Paint" program, I can't just drag, but I must go through an image conversion or photo site.Thanks.

AU- simple PC user here and far from a tech guru, but have you just tried right click, copy, and paste? Works for links- and some images I'm sure. Good luck.
