Delta 9 vs Cronos

Delta 9

Last quarter revenues $14 Million. On verge of turning EBITDA positive.

Market cap $59 Million

Cronos

Last quarter revenues $17 Million.  Currently loosing $162 Million (last 12 months).

Market cap $5 Billion.

84 TIMES OUR MARKET CAP !!!!   MARKET BELEIVES A COMPANY (CRONOS) MAKING THE SAME REVENUES BUT LOOSING $162 MILLION IS 84 TIMES MORE VALUABLE THAN MONEY-MAKIING DN !!!!

This is a unadulterated failure of DN management to promote our company to the investment community and secure a reasonable valuation for its shareholders!

84 TIMES !!!!!

There is a simple reason for this disparity.  Cronos is a global company.  Pot stocks that have good SP have spread to the USA and beyond.  DN is stuck in Westrn Canada, that is the core of the company.  Some revenue from Ontario andt the Maritimes but not enough to make a difference.  D9 will not be even going into Quebec.  Pot investors are looking to the USA and ...more

All valid points DD.   "Pot investors are looking to the USA and other big markets, this is where the real growth is.  This is why comapanies like Cronos have a good SP.  DN has hung its hat on vertical integration, the Manitona advantage, and slow/steady growth.  But this will not cut it.  John A needs be getting into the US market yesterday." US is a ...more

It is up to DN's executive team to figure out how best to do this. This is their job.  Just because they are not doing this does not mean they are doing the right thing.  Maybe they do not want to put their time and energy into expanding outside of their comfort zone.  DN is listed on the TSX, they have access to capital, a decent balance sheet and good reputation, this is an ...more

Again, how is this a failing on management's part?  They have said all along that they will only provide consulting and equipment into the US until weed becomes legal at the federal level.  John has already said multiple times that they cannot sell in the US until it is legal because it would violtae the rules of being listed on the TSX.  So if you wanted a company that was ...more

Well said.  All investors should do their DD before investing their hard earn $$$. John A has said that Arizona and other sates have inquired about the Grow Pods, well see what is announced.  Michigan and Maine already in the grow pods. USA is huge but Mexico might be easier to get into with their legalization.

Why would they not just grow their own in Mexico?  Wouldn't it be cheaper to produce locally and avoid transportation costs and customs fees?
Comment by gnote1 on Mar 01, 2021 4:11pm
Couldn't you say the same trying to get into the USA?  I was thinking grow pods and expertise.  Craft growers

The weather is ideal for growing in Mexico, they have been doing it for a long time.  Trying to sell grow pods and Canadian expertise on weed to Mexico??  Mexico was one the biggest exporters of weed in the world for decades even though it was illegal.  If there was free trade on weed, Mexican LPs would have an advantage over Canadian LPs   At least in the northern US (ie ...more

I understand that Arizona is considering grow pods from D9, not bad weather in Arizona except for extreme heat in the summer. Any how probably a long way off, D9 will be concentrating on Western Canada ,trying to get into Ontario retail and then USA. Canadian companies see opportunity down south Many cannabis businesses in Canada, with their well-established supply chains but limited local ...more

As Duedillengence pointed out it's not exactly a proper comparison, Chronos has a lot of speculation built into it's SP.  Is this really a failing of DN management?  Is John suddenly able to control overly excited investors and prevnt them from overbuying a company like Chronos?  I would say, that of the two companies, DN is a lot closer to a reasonable valuation than ...more

No doubt these LPs are overbought and will correct but not because of regulatory delays in the US.  There is too much money on the table for state governments to ignore.  More states will join the 4:20 club in the coming years if not months.  Six months ago DN said in their MDA that expansion into emerging markets in the United States is a priority.  Until this becomes a ...more
