Somebody pinch me!

Bravo!

Its unfortunate that some of the staff have to be jettisoned, but it has to be done or you have a sunk ship where everyone loses.  DN has to slim down to survive the hypercompetitive and oversaturated new industry.

Like Un.U. mentioned, if the government can now wake up to the fact that they are killing the industry with taxes, then maybe DN can also survive the against the completely untaxed and unregulated black market.

This fight against the black market isn't being won by the legal side, imo.  A buddy of mine mentioned that the ounce of blackmarket cannabis he used to pay $200 for is now sold to him for $60!  Thats $2/gram!  I don't think DN could ever make profits if their average selling price was that.  Just the Fed excise tax is $1 per gram. Poof.. 50% gone off the top.  IMO that excise tax needs to completely disappear for a decade and I'd like to see DN lead a consortium of companies to lobby the government to accomplish this.
