And the share price BEAT DOWN goes on....

Unbelievable lack of confidence, John!  Just step down already!  Let someone who believes in this company take over!

This is either part of some strategic plan, or John is terrible with his personal finances and needs to sell to pay his debts. I'm hoping for the former, but not ruling out the latter. If it was truly bad news for the company, I'm sure the other insiders would be selling, but no, it's just John.

... And for the record I voted to Withhold on the compensation packages being reinstated. They think that that laying off 40 people and buying an efficient Joint roller means they deserve compensation when the stock price is stagnant warrants compensation is acceptable, well, they can GTFO.

why  John was selling his shares...money for the new contract with BC? I think
Comment by 2Early2Retire on Jun 14, 2023 1:01pm
Knights, could you explain your reasoning on this statement, please? I don't see how John selling his personal shares would any way be linked to a company contract for 8 grow pods. I'm sorry, but I just don't see the connection.

your right ..after seeing your post....this is not a  good sign....why is he selling his shares....if you  have confidence in your own company ,,you would not be doing this so...the only reasoniing  is that its got to be something else..personnal problems , who knows

With the latest sell, I'm convinced more than ever that John has been advised to reduce his share count (the other insiders are not selling). it's interesting that this numbered Canada Ltd. is now (and has been for a while) the largest shareholder.  For those not into doing the math, John has sold 2,250,000 shares and recieved $119,810 since May of this year.No other shareholder has ...more

If you look at Hexo and Tillray a merger with a larger player could help . Hopefully not canopy I think it's the onions for that outfit. Would be nice if sundial was sniffing around . Alls I know is something has to change and let's hope the company goes in the right direction for the shareholders. The piggy bank is broke lols imo GLTA

Yes indeed. What a sad state of affairs for that once major cannabis company!  My take on John A selling his shares in high volumes is to lessen his share count to please a merger or take over agreement with a larger company.  larger company doesn't want John to have more shares then any one of their existing top executives  He will be offered an executive role in the ...more

I have been around since grass was invented and I have never heard of such a pre-merger  arrangement.  Makes no sense to me.  The objective you cite can be accommodated with sixteen different accounting ways that are routine in a merger and certainly less questionable.  JMHO Deduct, defer, and divide.  The mantra of a tax planning specialist.  The only thing that I ...more

why sell the shares into the market when you can just gift them .
Comment by golfyeti on Jun 28, 2023 8:25am
Millions of shares being sold in the market lowers the share price.  He would know this.  So why keep hammering the share price into the pennies? Maybe it is a change of ownership done in a way to minimize the tax bite when you sell/gift at a low share price.   A straight gift would be done at fair market value, i.e. a share price that isn't depressed by the millions of ...more

Do we know definitively that it was Jon selling these shares?  I agree it seems likely given the large volume of the trade, and his selling behaviour lately, but just for clarity, is it officially disclosed yet?
Comment by golfyeti on Jul 05, 2023 3:52pm
I figured it was a safe assumption given the selling pattern over the last year.  Here's where you can check.  He may not have filed the report yet.  I noticed that Sundial is selling too.   https://www.canadianinsider.com/company-insider-filings?ticker=DN
Comment by StonksOnlyGoUp on Jul 05, 2023 11:44pm
Canadian Insider was actually my first stop (super useful site) and I didn't see it there, but of course they have 5 days to officially disclose.  Also, for sure it is a very reasonable assumption. The Sundial selling is worrisome, the amounts aren't far off what the interest payments would be on the loan.  It may be possible that DN paying that bill in shares and Sundial is ...more
